Professor Anthony Kwame Ahiawodzi is a distinguished Scholar; Professor of Economics, and currently the Vice-Chancellor of the Knutsford University. He is a former Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), where he also acted in the Vice-Chancellor position on many occasions. He possesses a lot of experience in university governance and management, chairing and serving on a number of Boards, and Statutory and Non-Statutory Committees.  He has published many refereed articles in many reputable journals

Biography

Professor Anthony Kwame Ahiawodzi is an experienced Economist, Researcher and Educationist. He has an impressive career in academia through teaching, research and university governance and management at the following universities; University of Cape Coast, Central University and University of Professional Studies, Accra. He was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Professional Studies, Accra from 2013 to 2015.

Professor Ahiawodzi was the Lead Consultant for a four-member team that worked very assiduously to obtain initial accreditation for LUCAS College, Dzorwulu, Accra and later became the Founding President of the College from 2016 to 2017.

He was also the Founding President of the Institute of Certified Economists of Ghana (ICEG) from 2009 to 2012, and a Fellow of the Institute.

Professor Ahiawodzi has served on a number of Boards, and Statutory and Non-statutory Committees at the Universities he worked.

Professor Ahiawodzi’s research interests focus on Financial Economics; the financial sector reforms, financial liberalisation, interest rates, financial markets, macroeconomic stability, and economic growth and development. His contributions to the body of knowledge in Economics are evident in the various books he has authored in the subject area, and the various high impact journal articles published in both local and international journals.

Professor Ahiawodzi has taught, supervised and mentored a lot of students in economics, statistics and econometrics from 1985 to date. His academic and professional achievements have impacted very positively on a number of his former students, who currently, are at the top echelons of academia, industry and the Civil Service, both in Ghana and outside.

The core values of Professor Ahiawodzi are hard work, humility, patience and service to God and mankind.
